Shhh…It’s a Knitting Post

Posted on | December 21, 2009 | 6 Comments

Photo 1183This is what I made the 4yo for Christmas. He has other things too, but I knitted him some poo. And embroidered poo on it.

Pattern here.

I think this project would have turned out better if I had used a different yarn, if I had double pointed needles and remembered how to use them, and if I had any skill at all at knitting toys. The pattern is clear and very easy. I just didn’t have the skills or the tools to do it well. Also, I am not a toy knitter.

See? This is the last toy I knitted.

teddyMoral of the story: go back to knitting socks and scarves.

    You blogged! Yay!

    And now, a poem:

A toy-maker made a toy wife and a toy child.
He made a toy house and some toy years.

He made a getting-old toy, and he made a dying
    toy.

The toy-maker made a toy heaven and a toy god.

But, best of all, he liked making toy shit.

I didn’t write that. Russel Edson did. You were impressed for a second, weren’t you?

That is the saddest poo I’ve ever seen! Sad because it looks like real poo. No one wants real poo. Your bear is totally cute though!

When I first saw that I was all like, “Oh! I’m going to have to come up with something witty to say about whatever that thing that looks like poop on her blog.” And then I was all disappointed because it actually IS poop. Sigh. 4 year olds. Gotta love them!

I would like to knit my nephew some toy poo. I think he’d love it and I think it would piss my brother off.

I have knit several toy snakes/worms. They are sadly, my most favorite thing to knit ever. Photographic Evidence: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rhirhi/2419702033/in/set-72157594408882201/
