I used to play it in the car every single time I went on a trip with the kids. They ALL knew the words to it and we'd scream it at the top of our lungs. Sometimes, a bereft middle schooler would ask me if we could go for a drive just to hear the "happy song." Those were the best drives ever. And why is it that ladies get to wear their fancyhats inside and gentlemen don't? And I'm jealous of your staycation. Maybe I'll make hot chocolate after work today at 3 p.m., put on my pajamas and slippers, then cuddle up in a blanket for the entire weekend. Turn off my phone? I can't turn the internet off. The Driftwood Bar is my very favorite bar in Portland. You do feel like you are slipping an envelope of secrets under the table and into the hand of your lover. I know fancyhats wouldn't be so uncouth as to wear his hat inside, but I imagine his dapper self stepping into the lobby, taking off his hat, and running his fingers along the crease, and then... my imagination runs dry because it's Friday morning.
