dsc00385Fancyhats and I started painting two days ago. We’ve gotten a ton of work done and now you have to look at the pictures. This is my blue living room. The paint I’m using is so good. It’s Behr Ultra, which has primer in it so there’s no need to do it twice, which is good because we have a deadline, people.

dsc00387Here’s Archie’s room. I did an awesome thing with this paint, which was get the wrong color. I said Charisma, but it was supposed to be Charismatic. So we used the Charisma as a primer because his room used to be blue. For the record, Archie’s favorite color is yellow and he requested the yellow room. I applaud this. I love yellow too. So back to Home Depot this morning for the actual paint color.

dsc00388Annd presenting my pink bedroom! Fancyhats says it’s the color of pepto, but I think it’s pretty. And pink is one of those colors that combats the SADs and you know how I get those SADs 97% of the year here in the lovely Pacific Northwest. I’m doing everything I can to prevent them.

Okay, one day left of getting A’s room painted, then I’m off to be a speaker at BlogHer along with the Recovering Straight Girl. Because we’re fancy.

I LOOOVE the pink. So pretty.

Dane would shoot me in the face if I did that, though.

    Seriously.

Didn’t we also go to some dinner in an apple orchard?

My mother loved our yellow bedroom growing up. My brother and I shared great disdain for it. We would taunt my mother with the recurrent question: Why did you paint our room piss yellow? (The truth is the yellow was actually fairly pleasant. It was a little bright for teens, but served us well for 10+ years before that.)

    Way to go, Archie.

Gay Boyfriend said I could paint anything I wanted in Tiny Apartment and pink is on the docket for my bedroom too. You beat me!

The pink is fantastic! For the record, my bedroom is purple and every guy who walks in there (and there are many, many, many believe you me)always says he likes the color. It was the same color we used in our old house and the guy who bought it said he wasn’t going to change the color because it soothed him.

I don’t know if there was a point to my sharing that but I’ve had a glass of wine and I haven’t had my dinner yet and so there you have it.

I want deets on that orchard dinner!!

Did they serve really fresh, amazing, fruits and vegetables? How about some sort of great meat? I picture like a beef tenderloin with black truffle asparagus risotto (which they grew the spears on their farm–like 100 yards from where you’re eating.)

Was it a packed house? What was the average patron age? It seems expensive (and hip) enough to keep out the riff-raff.

How about wine parings? Was everything west-coast local?

(I had a lovely Alsation Trimbach this weekend but it was unfortunately paired with potato chips. At least they weren’t sour-cream and chive flavored…)
