New Projects, New Life
I keep calling this my new life. I’m ripping it off from K8, I’ll be honest.
Today the Merc released a little tidbit about the newest Back Fence PDX project. Click here for the details. HOW COOL IS THAT, YOU GUYS?!? On the serious. (See how I’m making you click links?)
So, Back Fence is taking a summer break, but that doesn’t stop us from planning two events in September. We just can’t stop with the events!
What else? Hmmm.
I’m very preoccupied with events and planning events and making fun things happen for people.
My neck is incredibly stiff. Turns out this whole breaking up, starting a new life thing is very stressful and I can’t feel my fingertips because the nerves in my spine are all crunched up.
Archie starts swim lessons next week. That should be interesting. I chose the lessons where Mom does not get in the pool. We’ll see how that goes. My little dude is a velcro child. All about Mommy, so I’m hoping he’ll get in the pool with a stranger, because, right?!!? That seems safe.
Okay, I think that’s it. If you know of any vineyards in the area that want to sponsor the new Back Fence event, do let me know. WINE.
Congrats! So awesome. Only sad that when I am in Portland in August there will be no events for ME to attend. ![]()
BTW — the link to your blog is wrong in the who’s behind this dinner and a story thingy on that website — links to the old wordpress bloggy. ![]()

Look at you doing lots of rad stuff.
RAD
I feel like I should be apologizing to Melissa for breaking her blog. I de-lurk for 2 minutes to write a therapeutic post, baring my soul–typing things I would never allow myself to say out loud–and, of course, the post was deleted. There’s irony for ya.
Anyway, here’s a tip for your stiff neck: Lay flat on the floor, arms stretched extended over your head and with your face in a pillow. (think “superman flying”) Lay there for 15 minutes and you’ll feel better. Often times neck pain comes from muscles a bit lower in your back. And with all your life stress lately, I’ll bet its taking it’s toll on your body.
Also, enjoy a martini and that will help, too.
Ben is right. I get the stiff neck from the internetting. The sweaty vinyasa yoga is the only thing that helps. Heat, stretching, and strengthening the back muscles will cure you.
I’m actually shocked at how easy it is to see the connection between stretching and lengthening my leg muscles and how it affects everything all the way up to my neck.
Also, boners.
Try painkillers mixed with xanax and wine. Works Every Time.
Steal away, my friend. And yes, starting your life over does indeed cause one’s fingers to tingle and spines to crunch. Downward dog is a favorite for both. That, and way too much wine, but we all know where that got ME. Ha!
